LLMs have traditionally been chat assistants - responding to prompts with the requested generated output (e.g text or images) or giving advice to the user to follow.
In February 2026, we are seeing a progression away from this towards taking action. Two indications of this are found in Claude - firstly in Interactive tools and secondly in 🌱 Claude Skills.
